18 Inch Demolition Masonry Reciprocating Saw Blade – Carbide 2TPI

An 18 inch tungsten carbide blade that cuts aerated concrete and brick on a recipro saw so a wall opening gets cut where a demo saw will not fit and a grinder will not reach. 2TPI, 1.5mm body, full-length carbide grit.

Where it gets used

Cutting openings in aerated concrete (Hebel) panel for doors, windows and service penetrations. Brick and block on soft demolition and strip-out. Anywhere the tool has to plunge, work into a corner, or run inside a building where a petrol demo saw is not an option.

Masonry cutting and silica

Brick, block and aerated concrete all contain crystalline silica. Since 1 September 2024 the NSW WHS (Crystalline Silica Substances) Regulation has required PCBUs to control silica processing, run a silica risk control plan, carry out air monitoring and provide health monitoring. Indoors, that generally means on-tool or water suppression plus HEPA air scrubbing. Confirm what your risk assessment requires.

Will it cut reinforced concrete? No. This is for porous and aerated masonry. Reinforced concrete needs a diamond blade or a core drill.

Will it cut through render or tile? It will get through render. Tile chips badly, score the face first.

What about steel in the wall? Hitting reo or a nail will damage the carbide. For mixed material use a bi-metal or carbide-tooth metal blade.
